The First Presidency of the Church has announced that the open house will take place from Thursday, April 17, to Saturday, May 3, 2025, with tours available daily except on Sundays. Visitors can find basic information at NairobiKenyaTemple.ChurchofJesusChrist.org.

The tours will begin at the new Latter-day Saint meetinghouse adjacent to the temple. Each tour includes an initial welcome followed by a 40-minute walking tour through the temple.
During a media visit at the temple, Elder Thierry K. Mutombo, a General Authority Seventy, shared insights about the temple. He stated, “Following the public open house, the temple will be formally dedicated on Sunday, May 18, 2025.”
The Nairobi Kenya Temple is the 204th temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints worldwide, serving over 80,000 Church members across seven countries.

Plans for the temple were first announced by Church President Thomas S. Monson in April 2017, with construction commencing after a formal groundbreaking in September 2021.
Latter-day Saint temples differ from meetinghouses or chapels, where congregations gather for Sunday worship services. Temples are viewed as “houses of the Lord,” where the teachings of Jesus Christ are reaffirmed through sacred ceremonies, including marriage and baptism, that unite families for eternity.
