The Leadership Office of the Sudanese Social Democratic Party (SCDP) convened its periodic meeting on Monday, May 5, in Kampala, Uganda, bringing together all members to assess recent progress and plan for the future amid ongoing challenges faced by Sudanese communities both at home and abroad.
Led by Abdulla Ismai, Secretary General,The meeting served as a key platform for evaluating the party’s performance and setting strategic goals in the wake of political uncertainty and a growing humanitarian crisis among Sudanese diaspora populations, particularly in Uganda.

Discussions focused on reinforcing the party’s civic presence, boosting internal operations, and building effective alliances.In a statement released following the meeting, the Leadership Office outlined a series of key decisions and recommendations.
These include a renewed commitment to community engagement, enhanced media communications, and a stronger humanitarian response for Sudanese refugees in Kampala.
The party also emphasized the importance of partnerships with local and international organizations and stressed the need for peacebuilding efforts across all sectors of Sudanese society.
Among the top priorities is the activation of the Office of Sudanese Women and Mother’s Affairs, which aims to address issues affecting women and children, particularly those with special needs.
The initiative will also promote grassroots integration with host communities.The SCDP pledged to support research in economics, development, social justice, and human rights, while encouraging a political culture grounded in dialogue and the rejection of hate and violence.
The leadership concluded the session by reaffirming its alignment with the Sudanese Founding Forces and expressing strong support for the anticipated declaration of the Peace Government—a step seen as vital for securing national stability and long-term peace.
